Sketchbooks
Sketchbooks are an essential part of my artistic practice. They allow me to stay connected to my creative work, even during busy periods. Serving as a space for experimentation, they provide a playground for exploring new techniques, ideas, and materials. Yet they are not merely extensions of my paintings on canvas—they possess a life and character of their own. While my artistic foundation lies in gouache and watercolor, I enjoy working with a huge range of media.
Hardcover Sketchbooks
For several years now, I have worked primarily in sketchbooks that I make myself. Creating my own sketchbooks allows me complete control over the paper quality, format, and size, enabling me to tailor each one to my individual needs. The process itself is deeply rewarding: designing playful covers, sewing the bindings, and assembling the books by hand are all integral parts of my creative practice. Making the sketchbooks is not merely a preparation for the artwork—they are an extension of the artistic process and a source of joy in their own right.
